 ABOUT ME

 

            My name is Candice Packer, born in Kitchener Ontario and i'm twenty one. I am the youngest grandchild and I have an older brother. I am currently taking my first year at Conestoga College for Radio Broadcasting, its really changed my world.  I have been on 88.3 CJIQ, i remember the first time they told us are stuff was going to go on the air, i was so excited.  The project was to record something for thanksgiving. The coolest part was that we got to write our own script and record it how we wanted it to sound. I love just hanging out with my friends, dancing, cooking (i love food) and traveling. Homework is actually so cool, while everyone's stressing about exams i get to go to the studio and just have fun. It was especially special at Christmas time when we got an assignment. I got to write my own thing I was so proud, I ran home to show my family.  The reason I am so passionate about radio is partly because of my love for music. The way it brings people together and  express how you are feeling.  Every genre of music is good music to me. I love writing, probably because of the impact words can have. I laugh everyday and am positive. I'm determined to be successful, my whole life has been about not letting anyone tell me I can't do something.  I'm self motivated, down to earth ,genuine , Sensitive and real.  I love to read, reading has also been another big part of my life.  My mentors are my mom, she raised me alone and i love everything about her. John Tesh is so relaxing and i can feel his connection with the audience. Taylor swift music impacts the way I feel, but my music taste doesn't end there. I'm into System Of A Down, Pink Floyd, Micheal Jackson, Eminem, the Beatles and way more. Barbra Walters is easily one of the most inspiring people in broadcasting, her interview style and all of her accomplishments. I'll be lucky to be half as successful as her.
